Are there plans to implement TLS support for requesting mail servers in future versions?

The request is in the wish list already, but we do not have any timeframes on when it will be implemented.

As an FYI, to make sure this is understood - SpamFilter v3.0 and higher supports SSL (implicit TLS) via an optional separate port (usually 465 or 587) that is configured to accept SSL/TLS traffic.

Support for explicit TLS - that is the STARTTLS command to begin an SSL-encrypted smtp session on port 25 - this specifically is not yet supported.
